LIVE WITH GOD
What an amazing concept, to live with God. The Bible speaks often of being in the presence of God, and dwelling with God. In the Psalms, David wrote that it was his greatest desire:
To dwell in the house of the LORD all the days
of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD
and inquire in His temple. Psalm 27:4
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalm 84:10
There are many references to where God lives: His tabernacle, His temple, His house, His holy hill, His pavilion, His dwelling place. It is a place of absolute glory, of awe at being in the presence of holiness, of awareness and knowledge of the ultimate love of God.
My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Psalm 84:2
You may feel that you could never qualify. Yet God still calls you to live in His presence. He has made a way to make you clean. He will give you a new heart. He sent Jesus to take all of your sins on Himself at the cross and in exchange give you His righteous, so you can dwell in the house of God. He gives you the white robe of righteousness.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. II Cor. 5;21
What a vision. What a concept. What a privilege.
But as many as received Him, to them he gave the right
To become children of God, to those who believe in His name. John 1:12
Joyfully,
Joyce
